The Zastava ZPAP92 AK pistol is a Serbian semi auto version of the renowned AKS-74U Krinkov compact assault rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm and built for import into the United States. Originally designed in Yugoslavia, this compact AK is more than just another knock off, the ZPAP92 was born from reverse engineering the AK with the goal of improving on the original design. The Zastava ZPAP92 uses Yugoslavian (Yugo) pattern parts. Beginning with a cold hammer forged, chrome lined barrel for superior accuracy and durability, the ZPAP92 uses a heavier, more durable, stamped steel 1.5MM receiver with bulged trunnion and dimple. A hinged top cover allows access to the corrosion-resistant hard nickel moly steel bolt carrier and provides a solid lock between the cover and receiver allowing the use of aftermarket Yugo dust covers with an integral Picatinny rail. Out of the box, the ZPAP92 uses Krinkov style rear & duel aperture front post sights for fast and accurate target acquisition. The 10" barrel features a 26×1.5 left hand thread that is protected by a thread protector that has been welded into place to comply with import laws but can be legally removed with minimal effort. The ZPAP92 is equipped with a bolt hold-open notch on the selector in and comes with a polymer bolt hold-open magazine (note that the bolt will close when the magazine is removed). A pre-drilled rear trunnion is built to accommodate a variety of mounting accessories. One 30 round magazine and a cleaning rod are included in the box, in addition to the owner's manual and guide.
