The Florida Gun Exchange hosts the state required concealed weapon safety course required to obtain your permit the First Wednesday of every month.
The instructional section of the class is held at Florida Gun Exchange, the first Wednesday of every month, and starts at 5:30pm sharp and continues for approximately 2 hours until around 7:30pm. The practical section of the course is on the very next Saturday morning, at Volusia County Gun and Hunt Club, and starts around 9:00AM. You are not required to own a firearm for the practical section of the course, as one can be provided for you, but you will need to provide 5 (five) rounds of ammunition.
The concealed weapon permit application packet will be provided during the classroom portion, and instruction on how to prepare the forms and get your passport photo and fingerprints done will also be given.
The cost of the class is $50.00 per person, and we respectfully request that you call in advance to sign up so we can keep track of attendance. There is also a $10 range fee on Saturday.

- Do I need to bring my firearm the night of the class instruction?
No. You do not need to bring your gun to the class on Wednesday night.
- Do I need to bring paper and a pen to take notes?
It is not required for you to do so. Handouts will be given for you to keep, and you may take notes if desired but it is not necessary.
- What forms of payment do you take?
We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
- Do I receive my permit after completing the course?
No, upon completing the concealed weapons permit course, you will receive your certificate of completion. Then, you can send in a copy of your form along with your application packet, fingerprints and passport photo and will receive your permit (pending a FBI background check) in the mail in a few weeks time.
